The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 kicked off on November 20, and there were some confusion about the broadcast and streaming rights here in India. Voot had been running advertisements about the event hitting its platform and people even bought a subscription to be ready when the streaming begins.
But a few days before the World Cup it was announced that Jio Cinema would be the streaming partner and not Voot. This was topped by the streaming disaster for the inital match few matches by JioCinema which was ridden with buffering and cut off streams.
The second round of games at the World Cup 2022 have already begun and some teams like the hosts, Qatar, already seem to be out of the World Cup 2022. The Day 6 matches saw Iran beating Wales 2-0, followed by Senegal routing Qatar 3-1. The surprise result of the day was the Netherlands vs Ecuador match which saw a 1-1 draw. The final match of the day was an intense one between England and USA which also resulted on a draw with neither teams scoring a single goal.
